Who We Are

Cape Town Roofing Co. was founded in 2011 by Pieter van der Merwe, a third-generation roofer who grew up on rooftops in Paarl. What started as a two-man bakkie operation has grown into a 24-person team serving the entire Cape Peninsula and Winelands region.

We handle everything from small residential leak repairs to 5,000 m² industrial re-roofing projects. Our team includes qualified waterproofing specialists, tilers, carpenters, and project managers — all employed directly, never subcontracted. That's how we maintain quality on every single job.

We are proud members of the Master Builders Association Western Cape and hold an NHBRC registration for new-build roofing. Our B-BBEE Level 4 status means we qualify for government and parastatal tender work across the province.

What We Do

New Roof Installation

Concrete and clay tile roofing, Harvey corrugated and IBR metal sheeting, natural slate imports, and Chromadek colour-coated sheeting. We work with your architect to meet SANS 10400-L compliance and ensure every roof is installed to withstand Cape Town's unique microclimate challenges.

Roof Repairs & Maintenance

Leak detection using thermal imaging, ridge capping repair, broken tile replacement, valley iron renewal, and emergency storm damage response. We offer annual maintenance contracts for strata and body corporate clients — catch small problems before they become expensive ones.

Waterproofing

Torch-on bitumen membranes, acrylic liquid-applied coatings, and cementitious slurry systems. We waterproof flat roofs, balconies, planter boxes, basement walls, and water features. Every waterproofing installation comes with a written 10-year material and workmanship guarantee.

Gutters & Rainwater Systems

Custom-manufactured seamless aluminium gutters in 15 colours, uPVC downpipes, leaf guard mesh, and rainwater harvesting tank connections. We design complete rainwater management systems that comply with the City of Cape Town's water-sensitive urban design guidelines.

Insulation & Ceilings

Aerolite Think Pink, Isotherm recycled polyester, and cellulose fibre insulation. We install Rhino Board and gypsum ceilings for both residential and commercial applications. Proper roof insulation can reduce your energy consumption by up to 30% — and it qualifies for SARS Section 12L deductions.

Roof Spray Painting

Restore and protect your roof with our high-pressure clean and dual-coat spray system. We use Dulux AcraTex and Plascon roof coatings with UV-reflective technology. Available in 200+ colours. Includes rust treatment for metal roofs and moss/algae biocide treatment for tiles.
